Consider/Approve Gymnasium Floor Refinishing Bid for South Fulton High School |

Background Information: In addition to advertising, we solicited bids from Covington Flooring Company, Inc., R & P Construction, and Russ Schrivner to refinish the gymnasium floor at South Fulton High School (specifications attached), which is budgeted in the General Purpose School Fund for the 2009 – 2010 fiscal year. The budget line item amount approved by the Board for this expenditure was $25,000. We received one (1) bid for this expenditure from Covington Flooring Company, Inc. in the amount of $26,135. Although the bid exceeds the specific amount budgeted, there are funds available in the Building Improvements line item to cover the excess. Staff Recommendation: I recommend approval of the bid submitted by Covington Flooring Company, Inc. to refinish the South Fulton gymnasium floor for $26,135. |
